Mitch Lees - Contact Centre Banking AdvisorI work as a banking advisor in the Wellington Contact Centre. I’ve been with BNZ for about 4 years. Before that I worked at a bank in Australia and a foreign exchange company, as well as Burger King and Rebel Sport. I applied at a few banks because I knew I could earn good money and get great experience at the same time. BNZ obviously knew talent when they saw it and employed me first!I’m better off at BNZ because I can schedule work hours that fit around my studies. As a student I require flexibility for my part-time work hours. BNZ and particularly my manager, has been very accommodating when my uni timetable changes, and especially around exam time. The money is hard to go past as well. BNZ pays almost double that of the average student job. Most importantly though, I have a ‘foot in the door’. Working for the National Australia Bank Group (BNZ’s parent company) provides so many different job opportunities, whether I want to travel and work overseas or move into a different division of the BNZ. At the moment I'm working on getting a graduate position in Corporate and Institutional Banking (BNZ Capital) What you'll do
You'll make sure every retail customer gets a great experience in which you offer them well thought-out financial and risk management products. You'll have a strong focus on turning opportunities into sales.
A typical day for a Contact Centre Banking AdvisorAn average day starts with a uni class, then I'm off to BNZ where I work on the phone answering customer enquiries regarding lending, insurance, investments and accounts. After work it's back to uni for another class, and then off home to set the kitchen on fire! |
